A Voice and Piano Recital by French Artists Sandrine Piau & David Kadouch at the Pergola

The French soprano Sandrine Piau is returning to the Amici della Musica this season once again to perform with pianist David Kadouch on Saturday November 2, at 4 pm, in the Teatro della Pergola. Their programme will comprise pieces by Schubert, Schumann, Liszt, Debussy, Wolf, Boulanger and Duparc, and is titled “Voyage intime, invitation au voyage” (An intimate journey, an invitation to travel).
Both artists have attained international recognition and boast an array of impressive past performances. Sandrine Piau has worked with various famous composers and has become a star in the Baroque music world. She has collaborated with William Christie, Philippe Herreweghe, Christophe Rousset, Gustav Lleonhardt, Ivor Bolton, Ton Koopman, René Jacobs, Marc Minkowski and Nikolaus Harnoncourt. Piau’s roles have ranged from Cleopatra (Julius Caesar) at the Opéra de Paris to Tytania (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) at the Festival d’Aix en Provence, and Cleopatra (Giulio Cesare) at the Opéra de Paris. She has appeared in major festivals and concert halls, such as the Salzburg Festival, Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall, Covent Garden Festival, Musikverein, Salle Pleyel in Paris, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, to name a few, alongside the most esteemed international orchestras.
David Kadouch is a French pianist whose career began at age 13 when he performed with Itzhak Perlman, the renowned violinist, in New York. Since then he won Young Artist of the Year at the International Classical Music Awards in 2011 and has worked with conductors Gábor Takács-Nagy, Jean-Claude Casadesus, Charles Dutoit and Chung Myung-whun. His chamber music partners include the Quatuor Ébène, the Quatuor Modigliani, Edgar Moreau, Renaud Capuçon and Gautier Capuçon.
