Poetry Masterclass with Elisa Biagini at CEA CAPA

Elisa Biagini

The public is invited to attend to the body is a page: a masterclass with Elisa Biagini, organized by CEA CAPA. The event is on Wednesday, February 19 at the Galli Tassi centre, via Pandolfini 20, starting at 6:30 pm.

Elisa Biagini is an Italian poet who has published several collections such as ‘L’Ospite’ (2004), ‘the guest in the wood’ (2013), and ‘da una crepa’ (2014). Bilingual, and thus at home in both Italian and English, she has translated several contemporary American poets for reviews, anthologies and complete collections and now teaches writing, art history, and literature at NYU Florence.

Poetry is a way to explore the mundane in a deep and meaningful way through observation and reflection. This workshop will be centred around the theme of the body and how through poetry it transforms itself into a written page. Participants will comment on some poems written by famous international poets on the subject, and then – with Elisa’s help – will write their own original poem.

The masterclass is open to everyone, not just those who are passionate about poetry and reading.
